During each 30-45 minute treatment the patient relaxes on a heavily padded bed. After being secured with an upper and lower body harness, the patient can completely relax by watching a DVD, listening to music or simply taking a nap.
During the 30-45 minute treatment , most patients experience a gentle stretch in the lumbar spine. Adjunctive therapies that may be prescribed include electrical stimulation and cryotherapy. Exercise and a lumbar support may also be prescribed to support the benefits of spinal decompression.
